Effective Sept. 10, 2026
Privacy Policy for Yamete (プライバシーポリシー)AKASYAAPPS / アカシャアップス (hereinafter referred to as "the Company") establishes this Privacy Policy (hereinafter referred to as "this Policy") to protect the personal information and privacy of users and the users of devices managed by them (hereinafter collectively referred to as "Users") in relation to the smartphone application "Yamete" (hereinafter referred to as "the App") provided by the Company. While the App is built upon a "local-first" security architecture designed to restrict children's nighttime smartphone use directly on the device, it utilizes a secure hybrid architecture that routes data through our encrypted servers to safely synchronize the "Remote Volume Control", "Family GPS Location Tracking", and "Family Chat" features within your paired parent-child network cluster in real time. The Company strictly complies with Japan’s Act on the Protection of Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as the "APPI"), as well as Apple Inc.’s and Google LLC's developer review frameworks, ensuring transparent data management in accordance with this Policy.1. Information We Collect and Purposes of UseThe Company collects only the absolute minimum amount of data required to reliably operate the App and utilizes it strictly within the scope of the following purposes. We will never use data for unintended purposes, nor will we sell, profile, or provide your data to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.
- Account Verification Data (Email Address)
- Method of Collection: Direct input by the User during initial registration.
- Purpose of Use: To send a 6-digit One-Time Password (OTP) via email for identity verification and to securely link the parent/guardian account. Please note that the Company does not collect phone numbers and does not provide SMS-based authentication functionality.
- Location Data (GPS Coordinates)
- Method of Collection: Real-time location coordinates captured from the managed device's (child's device) GPS sensor, Wi-Fi, or cellular network infrastructure.
- Purpose of Use: To implement the "Family GPS Location Tracking" feature, allowing parents to securely review their child's current real-time location on a map via the App. This location streaming data is processed temporarily to bridge the live coordinates to the parent's app interface and is not permanently stored or accumulated into destination histories on our servers.
- Family Chat Data (Text Messages & Communications)
- Method of Collection: Encrypted text message content typed and sent directly by Users within the app’s communication interface.
- Purpose of Use: To facilitate the "Family Chat" feature, allowing linked parent and child devices to communicate safely. Message payloads are securely routed through our servers and stored in our database infrastructure temporarily solely to facilitate delivery, sync status, and message history for the active conversation. Message contents remain private within the family account cluster and are completely auto-purged from our server database logs after 30 days of inactivity.
- Device Pairing & Remote Control Commands (Device Identifiers and Tokens)
- Method of Collection: Encrypted, platform-specific tokens generated upon launching the App.
- Purpose of Use: To securely route and synchronize volume alteration commands (e.g., volume reduction, muting), real-time location coordinates, and chat messaging payloads between the parent device and the target child device.
- Master PIN (Encrypted Passcode)
- Method of Collection: Configuration by the User.
- Purpose of Use: For parental/guardian authentication when modifying restrictions. The Master PIN is encrypted and stored exclusively within a secure local storage area on the device; it is never transmitted to or stored on our servers.
- App Inventory Data (List of Installed Applications)
- Method of Collection: Local data reading from the device operating system via native APIs.
- Purpose of Use: To allow the User to select and configure which applications (such as YouTube, TikTok, Roblox, or other games and social media) should be subject to nighttime restrictions (Guard Window). This data is processed entirely on the local device and is never sent to external servers.
2. Handling of Biometric DataThe App incorporates advanced biometric authentication (Face ID or Touch ID / Android BiometricPrompt) to prevent unauthorized restriction bypasses by children.
- Utilization of System APIs: The App performs authentication natively through official system APIs provided by Apple Inc. (LocalAuthentication) and Google.
- Principle of Non-Retention: The Company and the App do not directly access, collect, or store the User's biometric data (such as fingerprint records or facial recognition geometry) under any circumstances. Biometric authentication is handled entirely by the device's secure hardware environment (Secure Enclave / Trusted Execution Environment), and the App receives only the success or failure result of the authentication process (binary pass/fail information).
3. Device Permissions and System ControlThe App requests specific system-level permissions to reliably execute the automatic nighttime restriction boundary (Silent Nighttime Interception Engine), remote audio parameters, and location synchronization.
- Location Access Permission ("Always Allow"): Utilized to grant the App backend authorization to transmit accurate real-time location coordinates to the parent app framework even when the child's device is in a background state or asleep.
- Audio and Volume Control Permissions: Utilized to enforce system volume changes or muting remotely on command.
- Active Application Detection (Screen Time API / Accessibility Services): Utilized on iOS (via the native FamilyControls framework) and Android to locally detect when an unapproved application is launched during the restricted Guard Window, immediately deploying a full-screen lock interface.
- Removal Protection (Configuration Profiles / Device Admin): Utilized to prevent unauthorized uninstallation of the App by a child and maintain the resilience of parental boundaries.
- Explicit Declaration of Non-Monitoring: These system permissions are leveraged strictly for restriction enforcement, audio modification, location streaming, and text chat delivery. Outside of private messages sent explicitly by choice within the Family Chat feature, the App is technically incapable of monitoring, recording, or logging user keystroke logs, external message content, microphone inputs, web browsing history, or phone call logs.
4. Third-Party Consignment and Data SharingAs a matter of principle, the Company does not disclose, sell, or provide collected personal information to third parties. However, within the scope necessary to maintain the App's technical infrastructure, we may entrust data processing to trusted external service providers as outlined below:
- Email Delivery Infrastructure: We configure and utilize secure transactional email delivery services solely to ensure the reliable delivery of the 6-digit registration OTP via email.
- Cloud Sync Infrastructure: Technical data passes through a secure cloud server to dynamically route remote volume adjustment commands, real-time GPS coordinates, pairing tokens, and encrypted Family Chat messages from the child device to the parent device in real time. Behavioral advertising profiles or global tracking cookies are never implemented or stored on our backend infrastructure.
5. Data Retention and Deletion Rights
- Erasure of Local Data: If the App is completely uninstalled from the device, all schedule configurations, restricted application lists, and temporary cache data stored locally on the device will be automatically permanently erased.
- Server Data Deletion Requests: If you wish to permanently purge your registered email address, active chat message logs, and associated device pairing tokens from our infrastructure, you can execute an "Account Deletion" request directly inside the App settings, or contact our support desk listed in Section 7. We will promptly and permanently remove the data from our live database records.
6. Children’s Privacy and APPI ComplianceThe App is a parent-facing administrative tool designed to protect children's healthy smartphone usage, establish a safe nighttime environment, and verify situational safety. With the inclusion of the Family Chat tool, communication data generated by paired minor devices is processed strictly within the secure parent-child messaging container. We do not use child chat texts or location logs for diagnostic profiling, behavior monitoring, or commercial tracking. In complete compliance with the APPI, all real-time messaging data remains isolated from public directories, and parents retain the absolute right to purge all communication history instantly via the app settings.7. Contact Desk (Personal Information Handling Business Operator Information)For questions, concerns, or complaints regarding this Policy, or requests for disclosure, correction, suspension of use, or deletion of personal information based on the APPI, please contact the following designated desk:
